ESPN salutes John â€œChiefâ€ Martin

John Martin has overseen the production of 4,200 ESPN Radio events. Today, we announce the upcoming retirement of longtime ESPN Radio executive producer John â€œChiefâ€ Martin, who will bring his more than 25-year career at ESPN to a close after the MLB All-Star Game on July 11. Over a 40-year career, Martin has cemented himself as a pioneer and distinguished figure in sports broadcasting. Since then, he has been a part of every nearly every major sporting event in the country and has been integral in bringing those marquee broadcasts to ESPN Radio â€“ from the NFL, NBA, MLB and College football, to FIFA World Cup Soccer, US Open Golf, The Open Championship, The World Cup of Hockey and many more.
