The Special Olympics World Games begins on Saturday with the lighting of the cauldron in Los Angeles. The torch, called the “Flame of Hope,†made its way from Greece and across the United States through three different routes as part of the Special Olympics Unified Relay Across America. More than 300 ESPN employees helped carry the torch as it crisscrossed throughout country including those in Austin, Bristol, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, New York, Seattle and Washington D.C. Employees from the Charlotte office carrying the “Flame of Hope.†Employees from the Chicago office carrying the “Flame of Hope.†Employees from the Fort Worth office carrying the “Flame of Hope.†Employees from the Glendale/Burbank offices carrying the “Flame of Hope.†Employees from the Los Angeles office carrying the “Flame of Hope.†Employees from the Milwaukee office carrying the “Flame of Hope.†Employees from the New York office carrying the “Flame of Hope†with Robin Roberts. Employees from the Washington, D.C. office carrying the “Flame of Hope.â€
